Grineer Units

The Grineer forces mostly consist of marine or cyborg type enemies. They have light units, which are equally vulnerable to special damages, armored units, which are very vulnerable to armor piercing, and they have heavy units who aren’t really vulnerable to anything, but takes slightly higher damage from armor piercing.

Armor piercing is therefore the best damage against the Grineer, and taken into consideration how most of the troops they bring are of the “armored” type, armor piercing is by far the best damage type to fight them with.

Sawman

A light armored melee unit, who will launch at you with his rotating saw blade thingy. Having no shield, sawmen are very easy to shoot down from a distance, but can be devastating to warframes with little or no upgraded shield and health pools. Sawmen makes a lot of noise from their blades.

Grineer Flameblade

Flameblade

An upgraded version of the Sawman. Flameblades do not make the same amount of noise that sawman does, and they have some defensive shield.

Powerfist

An even further upgraded version of the sawmen and flameblades. They have a much slower attack than flameblades, but deals a significantly higher amount of damage.

Grineer Lancer

Lancer

The standard Grineer marine with blue armor. Lancers mostly use automatic rifle in shorter bursts, but can also use grenades. The grenades can deal a high amount of damage, but the lancer’s aim is pretty scrappy. He is armored and has a fair resistance towards electrical, fire and freeze damage, but is weak against armor piercing damage.

Grineer Trooper

Trooper

Shotgun wielding version of the Lancer with yellow armor. Stating the obvious, they deal large amounts of damage up close, but are relatively harmless from longer ranges.

Grineer Shield Lancer

Shield Lancer

A standard lancer with a huge riot control shield, but otherwise only equipped with a pistol. He will move slowly towards the player and sometimes stick out his pistol from above the shield and fire. When he gets into range, he will charge and stun the player. While moving and shooting, he can be shot in the feet, leg, rear end (all counts as body) and head with precise weapons. Can be safely taken down with a well timed Charge Attack.

Grineer Ballista

Ballista

Looks different from the other troops by resembling a female cyborg. She carries a sniper rifle and has the same armor values as the standard Grineer troops.

Grineer Seeker

Seeker

A heavier armored Grineer troop with yellow/green armor, who isn’t as vulnerable to armor piercing as the standard troops, but who take more damage from electrical, fire and freeze attacks. They use a small automatic pistol and also shoots out small grenades, which will stick to the player and explode after a few seconds. A roll move will make the grenade fall off and lie still until it explodes.

Grineer Heavy Gunner

Heavy Gunner

Another female cyborg unit, but mucher thicker looking armor than the Ballista. The heavy gunner is armed with what seems to be a Gorgon rifle (or mini-gun). They can be devastating if they are allowed to keep firing uppon a player at medium or closer distances.

Grineer Napalm

Napalm

Bright red armor, which makes him very easily recognizable. As the name reveals, the unit’s main weapon is napalm. Although the unit is pretty slow, the large spread of the fire it shoots on the ground can be quite nasty.

Grineer Bombard

Bombarder

Heavy unit in grey/white armor, which uses a slightly home seeking rocket launcher. The rockets can be shot down.

Grineer Commander

Commander

An upgraded standard Lancer, who has the ability to switch places with the player (ever wondered why that keeps happening in some areas and you suddenly stand in the middle of a group of Lancers? These dudes are why!).

Grineer Roller

Roller

The roller is a ball shaped robot, which rolls towards the åæayer and launches itself at him/her while extending blades from all over it’s “body”. It’s pretty small and moves quickly, which makes it hard to hit. Combined with the stun it does when hitting the player, it can become an extremly dangerous foe combined with other enemies.
